Route Description:The Stop route is a short 5-yard route where you turn around towards the Quarterback immediately after reaching 5 yards downfield. You want to plant hard and avoid drifting backwards so the Quarterback has a steady target to aim for. This is an easy way to pick up a quick 5 yards if the defense is playing too far off.
