Tunnel (Stacks)
The Tunnel play might look like a deep play when drawn up, but it is really meant to be a play thrown to the Shallow Cross route that is “tunneling” underneath.
The other receivers are used primarily to run off the defense and take all the defenders deep downfield with them. After the defense has backed off, the shallow cross route should be open and have tons of room to run after the catch.
